The Wild Outdoors Activity Camps believe that the school holidays are when some of our most fond childhood memories are created. Long hot days spent on big adventures sharing laughs with friends.
We provide day camps which are 9 to 5 (with the option of early drop off and late pick ups) and 3 day 2 night residential camps.
Children’s welfare is at the heart of everything we do, this starts with the people who work for The Wild Outdoors Activity Camps. Each of us understand how important your child and their experiences are to you, we know the importance of ensuring that when your child comes home from the camp, you will love to hear the stories they will tell you with pure excitement in their eyes.
I have always had a love of the outdoors. Raised in the Kent countryside I could disappear for hours on a hot summers day, exploring the countryside, coming home slightly sunburnt with tales of my exploration. This gave me my love for the outdoors and in any spare time I had I have been on adventures ever since.
It took me until 2010 to make the career change into the outdoors and it has been an amazing journey so far. Having recently left my position as Operations Director for a hugely successful outdoor education provider based in Oxford, we have moved to the beautiful Scottish borders to be closer to family and give our 2 year old son access to his big family.
My aim with The Wild Outdoors Activity Camps is to bring affordable activity camps to all in the Scottish Borders. Outstanding staff, outstanding food, outstanding environments, lead to summers that last a lifetime.
The Wild Outdoors Activity Camps is bringing my love of the outdoors home.
Being raised in the Scottish borders I was lucky enough to be able to explore hills, rivers and woodlands. I left the borders at 16 taking two years out of education to work at a children’s charity in Cambodia, this experience has left its mark on me and I have spent my life working with children with the aim of bringing them experiences and opportunities that that they will remember.
After graduating from Aberdeen University I went on to work for companies that allowed me to continue working with children, both in a care setting and in an outdoor capacity.
From climbing, hiking, kayaking to woodland play and wild cooking I have seen children find a sense of independence and wonder as they built on their relationship with the outdoor world.
For the last 6 years I have worked for a very successful outdoor education provider just outside of Oxfordshire. Working with over 25,000 children a year nationwide.
We are bringing our expertise and passion for the outdoors to all in the Scottish borders. I want to bring what I love about the outdoors home with me, I want to deliver amazing experiences for children.
The food, the environment, the experiences, the memories.
